A language gym for your phone

Say it until it's yours.

Fluenics turns sentences into drills. Hear one in a natural voice, say it back and get scored on your pronunciation, then recall it from memory days later. Everything you keep rises on a map of islands.

Demo. A bot is playing. Tap the screen to take over.

This is the app's real game engine, playing Italian. Drag through the number the word names; avoid the bombs.

How it works

Four levels, one phrase at a time.

Every phrase you meet climbs the same ladder. Tap a step to see what it takes.

Vorrei un caffè, per favore. I'd like a coffee, please.
Not met yet

“Hear it” uses your browser's voice. The app speaks with neural voices that run on the phone itself.

Your islands

The language is an archipelago.

Each region is an island: verbs, words, expressions. Unexplored land is bare stone; learned ground turns green as it rises. Islands grow out from the words said most, so the heart is what you use every day and the coast is the long tail.

Tap any spot of land to practise it.
Not met Heard Said Recalled Kept Missed in Review

Practise on the map

Open a word and hear it, say it, or say it from memory, right there. Open a verb and you are on its tablet: every form a cell, every drilled form carved in. The map is the exercise, not a report on it.

It knows what to do next

A pin marks the next exercise: mend what Review missed, recall what you have only said aloud, keep what you recalled days ago. Italian comes with a reference pack, so the most used verbs and words are on the map from day one, faint until met.

The Arena

An arcade where the language decision is the game.

Eighteen small games, each a real arcade loop with the grammar inside the mechanic: the food is letters, the chutes are articles, the invaders carry verb forms. Every hit and miss feeds the same map. Four of them are playable at the top of this page.

Morphology

Each game is a deterministic simulation with a bot that can play it; the bot in the demo above is the one the test suite uses to prove every game is winnable.

Drills

Commission the drill you need.

Say what you want to be able to say. The generator writes a set of sentences with translations, tagged to the verbs and words they use, so the map knows where each one belongs. Then the voice on your phone reads them to you, and you drill.

Or skip the asking: every suggestion on the map can become five new sentences about exactly that verb, that word, that gap.

Commission

  • Un tavolo per due, per favore.A table for two, please.tavoloper favore
  • Cosa mi consiglia?What do you recommend?consigliareLei
  • Vorrei prenotare per stasera alle otto.I'd like to book for tonight at eight.volere · condizionaleprenotare
  • Il conto, per favore. Posso pagare con la carta? The bill, please. Can I pay by card?poterepagare

Example output. In the app the sentences are written by a language model and read in a neural voice on the phone.

Your data

Yours, on your phone. One file to back it up.

There is no account to make and no server of ours that holds your learning. Your drills, your map and your history live in the app's own storage. Back up to a single file whenever you like, and restore it on a new phone, merging or replacing.

Stays on the phone

  • Every drill, sentence and translation you have.
  • Your fluency map: what is heard, said, recalled and kept, and when.
  • Your pronunciation scores and Review history.
  • The voices: neural text-to-speech runs on the device.

Leaves the phone, for one job each

  • Your voice, to be scored. A recording of the phrase you say goes to a speech service (Microsoft Azure Speech) with the text you were meant to say, and a score comes back.
  • Your request, to write a drill. What you asked for, the language pair and the words you are working on go to a language model (Google Gemini) that writes the sentences.

The full privacy page says exactly what is sent, and when.

Languages

Built for Italian first. Open to any language the generator can write.

  • Italiano reference pack
  • Español
  • Deutsch
  • Русский
  • Français
  • Português

Italian has a reference pack: the most used verbs, words and expressions are on the map from the start, faint until met, with a full conjugation tablet for every verb. Any other language is built from what you drill: its islands grow from your own sentences.
